Evie Metz and Nick Daly are a collaborative duo whose work combines animation, sculpture, sound and technology. Nick composes all of the music and sound effects which underpin the visual worlds that Evie, both in front and behind the camera, handcrafts and brings to life. Their animated narratives unfold in a primeval environment, where human, natural and supernatural beings follow uninhibited intuition.

 

The landscapes in these handcrafted inner worlds are actively-participating characters in their own right, shifting between being unforgiving external forces against the character or becoming extensions of the characters’ psyche. By working through movement one photographic frame at a time, they break down existential topics by tracing experience through a tangible point of entry. The characters personify the ancient questions of existence that have always been with us as a species and always will be.
